Position Title: Textile Merchandiser / Stylist - Womens Apparel

Job Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Description: Our client, a leader in the apparel industry, seeks a highly creative Merchandiser / Stylist to be based on the West Coast. ***NO RELOCATION***LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY PLEASE***

Responsibilities include:

• Continuously shop for trend and inspiration on a global basis and interpret for exclusive Wal-Mart women's career apparel
• Create seasonal color palettes, merchandise and style line
• Work closely with Wal-Mart product development and buying teams and participate in line presentations with sales team
• Travel to work directly with Wal-Mart at corporate offices. Attend market and to shop for trends at key tradeshows and market weeks
• Review and approve strike offs
• Provide direction to team from conceptual development stage through repeats stage

Experience required:

• Ideal candidate will possess min. 10 years experience with full merchandising, coloring and styling responsibilities for a major textile converter or mill, will also consider candidates from vertical apparel manufacturers or retailers
• Possess exceptional eye for color, print, pattern and details
• Highly developed taste level and knowledge in the home market
• MS Office (Word/Excel/Email), Photoshop and Illustrator are essential to this position. U4ia, Micrographix Designer or Nedgraphics a huge plus!
• Strong knowledge of engraving and printing techniques
• Must possess highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Possess ability to compose business correspondence related to responsibilities and to maintain a professional level of communication with overseas mills, internal cross-functional teams and mass merchant teams
• Travel up to 30% to work with key / mass market accounts
• Excellent work environment. Must be willing to do what it takes to get the job done. NO weekend work!
