The ideal public relations specialist has outstanding communication skills and is able to manage fashion and event media coverage.
Responsibilities
- Support Rack media and act as a spokesperson when approved
- Give ongoing support and coaching to senior management and frontline employees, including setting up interviews, providing message points, writing speeches and organizing PR events as needed
- Write press releases, annual report sections, speeches and internal communications for external and internal channels
- Act as back-up to executive assistant whenever required
- Monitor and route daily news
- Update company fact sheets, listing and ranking requests
- Manage and organize both video and photo archives and act as point contact on all inquiries and requests for archived material
- Work part time to execute the Company's social media strategy, including communicating via social networks, executing activities to promote brand awareness and monitoring brand reputation in the social media space
- Proof and write copy, create media lists, assemble press kits and generally support the PR teams whenever required
- Manage departmental magazine and newspaper subscriptions and organization
Qualifications
- Previous or current Nordstrom work experience preferred
- Experience in a communications, HR or PR role preferred
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong writing skills, attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work 2 to 3 weekends per month for social networking responsibilities
