Vans Marketing Manager (Los Angeles)

Develops proper messaging and tools to promote the Vans Girls brand including Girls Footwear, Apparel and Accessories at Wholesale and Retail. Also responsible for direction and management of Girls Marketing activity, including coordination with Girls Category Managers on product. Establish control-related standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with peers in product, sales, and retail to ensure a high level of collaboration and shared vision.
  • Point of contact for international marketing offices.
  • Create and manage global marketing calendar.
  • Communicate updates as appropriate.
  • Build integrated wholesale and retail marketing strategies, working in conjunction with category leaders for planning and marketing partners for execution (art, events, media, PR, web).
  • Assists where needed to execute strategy (i.e. asset fulfillment).
  • Overall responsibility for Girls brand assets, imagery, and programs.
  • Strategize and maintain balance between five categories: Girls Footwear, Apparel, Accessories, Girls Classics, and Girls Surf.
  • Develop and drive Girls brand image.
  • Attend line reviews and style the collections to tell one unified brand story.
  • Make product recommendations to category leaders.
  • Plan and manage photo shoots and fashion presentations, including product coordination, model selection, vendor negotiation, and overall strategic direction with Graphic Designer (A.D).
  • Coordinates administrative shoot tasks (call sheets, catering, fit assistance).
  • Manage Girls sample closet for shoots, giveaways, and seeding across all categories.
  • Completely maintains and organizes closet.
  • Plan annual budget and develop a system for monthly accruals and tracking.
  • Coordinates vendor payments through Finance where needed.
  • Develop and maintain marketing and PR calendar based on category needs by marketing mix.
  • Work with category leaders and PR to determine seeding, key stories and launch dates.
  • Manage marketing review process and calendar.
  • Responsible for deliverables at seasonal product launch.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ Years of Related Professional Experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from four-year college or university or 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years marketing and/or public relations experience, preferably in Girls, Footwear and/or Action Sports.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of mass media and its operation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Basic computer skills, Lotus Notes and Microsoft programs.
  • Strong people skills Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and able to multi task.

Special Requirements:

  • Travel is required as necessary.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
