Bonhams & Butterfields is an international auction house specializing in the appraisal and sale of fine art, fine and rare books and manuscripts, fine jewelry, antiques, fine wine, motor cars and all types of collectibles. Our US galleries and salesrooms are located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City.
We are looking for a candidate for our San Francisco office to coordinate with our Public Relations Manager in Los Angeles to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the West Coast press office. Will also work with East Coast public relations colleagues and the Groups corporate Press Office, based in New Bond Street, London. All offices will work as an international team and share the responsibility for publicizing the auction houses sales and activities to an international media audience, with the aim of building a strong positive perception of the Bonhams brand. Daily activities in the Press Office are extremely varied and although the workload is often demanding, it is also highly rewarding.
Qualifications:
· College degree, with a concentration or major in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or relevant Liberal Arts discipline;
· Work experience in public relations or journalism;
· Exceptional organization and written/verbal communication skills;
· Exceptional media relations skills;
· Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines;
· Excellent problem-resolution skills;
· PC proficiency with MS Office applications Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn other software programs;
· Ability to be self-sufficient as well as team oriented.
