Description:
The Event Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s signature events, the Brennan Awards and the Discarded to Divine Fashion Show, in addition to smaller ancillary events. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and coordinating all aspects of the events’ logistics and details, creating and producing event collateral materials, managing the responses generated from the invitations, solicitation of sponsorship and in-kind donations. The Event Coordinator collaborates with the Communications Coordinator on event publicity and with the Volunteer Coordinator in the staffing of the event. The Event Coordinator provides the volunteer leadership with strategic, logistical, operational and fundraising support.
Qualifications:
College degree preferred. Three or more years experience with event coordination. Must possess excellent communication skills and competency when interfacing with volunteers, community and business leaders, major donors, board members and colleagues. Must possess clear written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and set priorities. Must demonstrate an ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and InDesign (on a PC platform) Prior experience with donor database management software preferred. Experience with Constant Contact, Acrobat Professional, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, HTML , Dreamweaver and/Raiser’s Edge donor database and event module a plus. Knowledge of fundraising in the San Francisco Bay Area.
