Monster.com Marketing/Web Media Designer (San Francisco)

AffinityLabs is looking for a talented Media Designer specializing in user engagement. Designer must follow industry trends for a multitude of verticals and become an expert in verticals target audience. Must have a good eye for design as well as a guerilla marketing mind set. Applicant must be able to thrive in a performance based environment and comfortable with numerous deadlines.

The Media Designer defines, develops, and maintains the presentation layer for multiple Monster properties (FastWeb.com, Education.org, Learning.Monster.com, AffinityLabs) along with designing and developing creative and powerful online advertisements, emails, and rich media content. Responsibilities are focused on site and advertisement design, optimization, and front-end development to provide to clients and the technology group. In addition, the role will provide support on web-based technologies to other groups within Monster.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with other visual designers, product owners, and technology developers to:

  • Design innovative customer facing design solutions for FastWeb, MonsterLearning, AffinityLabs and other Monster properties
  • Design various online advertising creative for web and email use from initial concept or client supplied creative
  • Effectively manage, execute and deliver numerous projects with minimal supervision
  • Create production-quality HTML/CSS/JavaScript code for use on FastWeb/Monster/Affinity web sites and solutions
  • Understanding and application of the principles of design, typography and color
  • Translate client requirements into design solutions in-line with corporate and product branding and design requirements
  • Optimize designs to maximize effectiveness by testing multiple creative approaches.Working knowledge of (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript coding standards
Job Requirements :

Qualifications:

  • BA, BS or Associate’s Degree in Graphic or Interactive Design or a related communications or marketing degree
  • 2 - 4 years of experience as a web or graphic designer, and direct marketing; agency experience is a plus
  • Web and design skills, including graphics creation and optimization, HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Basic Flash animation and scripting is a must
  • Aptitude for online analysis, campaign development, campaign optimization and reporting campaign results; solid understanding of advertising
  • Team player able to work on cross-functional projects involving creative, product, marketing, technology, and other departments
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently handling complex projects and prioritizing and managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines and time constraints
  • Use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) is required
  • There is no relocation assistance offered for this position. Candidates must be willing and able to report to 799 Market Street, San Francisco on a daily basis.
