Responsibilities:
Direct the fashion and shopping coverage across NBC Local Integrated Media’s city websites and out-of-home platforms, collaborating with the core editorial team as well as local editorial directors and managing editors
Ensure the voice, tone and mix of content fits with the overall editorial strategy created by NBC Local Integrated Media’s lifestyle managing editor and editor-in-chief
Assist in creating and managing local franchises and sub-franchises focused on fashion and shopping
Write articles and create videos and slideshows, working with producers, editors and content experts to publish across multiple platforms on a 24/7 schedule
Manage fashion and shopping content partnerships
Assist in recruiting freelance contributors and other content creators
Collaborate on cross-functional projects with NBC Local Integrated Media’s product and tech, marketing, and sales teams
Qualifications:
At least 4 years experience as an editor, senior writer or senior producer at a major news organization that creates local content under tight deadlines.
Experience creating fashion and shopping content is required
Undergraduate degree, preferably in journalism, political science, art history, or English
Eligibility Requirements:
At least 2 years experience managing editors, writers, bloggers and/or contributors
Must be a skilled writer with outstanding communication skills
Experience creating videos and appearing on camera
Must be able to work early morning, late night and weekend hours when demanded by the start-up environment or other editorial responsibilities
Must have the desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive environment
