CBS News Entertainment Writer/Blogger (NYC)

CBS News Online is looking for a rock solid writer/reporter who knows how to work the phones as well as a story line. Your writing must be clean, quick, and interesting. You could be writing as many as five short pieces a day or one or two longer ones. This gig is for serious web writers. Newspaper reporters welcome.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Identify, write and produce stories for cbsnews.com entertainment section.
*Develop ideas for extended and original coverage in concert with team.
*Produce interactive elements, such as photo galleries as needed.
*Ensure timely coverage and superior story packaging with video, graphics, audio and other interactive elements for cbsnews.com

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
*Bachelor's degree required, journalism graduate degree preferred
*3+ years journalism reporting/writing experience
*Entertainment reporting experience a major advantage
*Web site experience a plus, not required, but must be computer savvy
*Fantastic news judgment
*Ability to write strong, clean copy with accuracy and flavor
*Ability to multitask and work effectively and fast under deadline pressure
*Willingness to work varied shifts
*Superior communications skills and understanding of management principles
*Team-oriented and a leader by example
*Demonstrate outstanding initiative
*Passion for and knowledge of entertainment, celebrity, and fashion is a big plus. Creative writing style and voice is also a major plus.

Location: NYC broadcast center

*Must successfully pass a background check
