Merchandise Buyer - Luxury Goods - eCommerce - Fashion - Retail
If you are a Merchandise Buyer with Luxury Goods/Fashion and eCommerce experience, please read on!
What you need for this position:
- 3+ years buying experience
- Self-starter, ambitious in nature
- Love of fashion, shoes, accessories and lifestyle product
- Strong understanding of merchandising financials including retail math and the ability to manage profitability
- Successful experience in buying in multi brand, multi vendor environment
- Knowledge of Open-to-Buy process
- Strong product sensibility
- Ability to analyze reports and draw conclusions/recommendations
- Ability to remain flexible and willing to change strategies, as business needs dictate
- Ability to lead team effectively and create an exciting workplace
- Discount retail experience strongly preferred
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the merchandising team in the product selection that sets company apart in its selection
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships and attend buying trips
- Assist in negotiating buying terms with vendors for price, quantity, delivery terms, and markdown cost
- Create the Purchase Order (PO) for each buy or consignment deal with a vendor
- Manage the Purchase Order (PO) process between company and the respective brand
- Develop merchandise descriptions to be sold
- Deliver brand images, press kits, and other marketing material as needed
- Present new brand recommendations regularly to management team
- Follow closely industry trends and new product ideas by reading fashion magazines and visiting stores
- Attend to brand needs with respect to company's website
