Department Description:	Campus Recreation is a department within the division of Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreation programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the following: The UC Davis Activities and Recreation Center, Pavilion, Fitness and Wellness Programs, Intramural Sports and Sports Clubs, Equestrian Center, Craft Center, Outdoor Adventures, Youth Programs, Aquatics Program and the Cal Aggie Marching Band.

Position Details
Job Summary:	Provide instruction to Craft Center patrons for beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes in textiles. Classes include but are not limited to: crochet, knitting, quilting, misanga, sewing, spinning, weaving, and silk painting. Instruct students in the use and care of textile tools and equipment. Distribute, collect, and submit course evaluations. Clean up studio/lab after every class. Recreation Program Instructors at the Craft Center provide evening and weekend instruction in specific craft techniques. Classes can vary from one 8 hour workshop to seven classes of 2 hours at time once a week.
Physical Demands:	Exposure to dyeing chemicals.
Work Environment:	Work evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:	Theoretical understanding and demonstrated skill in textiles to teach multiple levels of one or more classes in crochet, dyeing, knitting, quilting, misanga, sewing, spinning, weaving, and silk painting. Knowledge of use and care of tools and materials associated with textiles as well as the procedures required to ensure strict standards of health and safety. Communication skills to facilitate class discussion among a culturally diverse clientele and to use a variety of teaching aids. Writing skills to provide course descriptions and reports associated with class(es) being taught.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the EDM ( Education and Development Manager), the SiJCPBE (Sephora inside JCPenney Beauty Educator) will deliver the highest level of product and selling skills training to all levels of SiJCP (Sephora inside JCPenney) stores' consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Training and Education

• Assist in facilitating and presenting SOS (Science of Sephora), Orientation, WE CARE and brand education modules off-site and in-store settings
• Implementation of existing and future product and selling skills training
• Evaluate, coach, and train in-store when off-site training is complete
• Attend Train the Trainer sessions to develop personal product knowledge
• Provide Plus/Delta feedback to the EDM and BM (Beauty Manager), if in-store, at the conclusion of training sessions, and if needed from SOS/brand training sessions
• Build and maintain successful relationships with the Store Manager, Beauty Manager, Beauty Specialists, Product Consultants

• Represent Sephora inside JCPenney in a professional and ethical manner at all times, following all Sephora and JCPenney guidelines

Requirements

- Proven ability to conduct successful trainings utilizing exceptional and innovative presentation skills and tools

- Experience with, and full understanding of, the Sephora concept is preferred

- Commitment to one year minimum of frequent travel, which may be 3-4 weeks per month

- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred

- Previous experience as a Sephora Product Expert is required if the candidate is applying internally

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to give and receive feedback and act upon it

- University degree or equivalent experience

- Able to lift and move 50 pounds

- Ability to work in a fragrance-filled environment

The adjunct instructor facilitates meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively supports all facets of the learning environment. S/He provides education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. We are currently seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in our Fashion Marketing and Management program, including the beginning level Survey of the Fashion Industry course as well as teaching industry appropriate computer skills in Microsoft Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design and Excel in a variety of upper-level college level courses.

Knowledge:

• Master's degree in a related field is required.
