SUMMARY Starting position for an organized, outgoing, smart individual looking to learn PR. Responsible for providing support to the public relations department in the following areas: media relations, investor relations, community relations and internal communications. This position reports to the PR Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Assists Public Relations Manager with all media inquiries. · Coordinates product and information to editors. · Manages media database including keeping all contact information up to date. · Generates weekly PR reports and maintains monthly press clippings book for department. · Coordinates and executes all aspects of press mailings · In tandem with PR Director and PR Manager, develops ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations and other PR activities that promote awareness of the company and its products or services. · Works with Merchandising, Product Design and Creative Services to coordinate photo and PR product samples. · Manages and coordinates responses to all charitable donations and sponsorship requests. · Works on miscellaneous projects for business and corporate development as needed. · Provides administrative support to the group including booking travel, managing outside vendor relationships, and executing presentations. · Manages invoice log and tracks all departmental expenses. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
